What you get when you combine near future population growth with current human behaviour

Too many, too much

‘Too many, too much’ is a research on world population growth and its effects. It started when disturbing news came about: in 2021 several hospitals in the Netherlands noticed that every month, 5 to 10 completely healthy young women came in and asked to be sterilized voluntarily. The reason was quite stunning: they did not see a future for their children. This answer started the research and the World Population Limitation Movement.

Parts

Four parts can be distinguished in the research. In ‘People want children’ we discover the growth of the world population, its reasons and future. In ‘People want protein’ we discuss current human consumption habits and what happens when it is combined with near future population growth. In the third part, ‘Too many, too much’, we discuss the unsustainability of this combination. The fourth part, which is the latest addition to our research, ‘Basic necessity’ addresses the critical depletion of global freshwater resources driven by overuse and inequitable access, highlighting the severe consequences for ecosystems and human health.
